Mishnaic (adj.): 1718, "of or belonging to the Mishnah," the collection of oral law which forms the basis of the Talmud, from Hebrew, literally "repetition, instruction," from shanah "to repeat," in post-Biblical Hebrew "to teach or learn (oral tradition)."
