佛头加秽的典故

唐穆宗时期，崔群游览湖南东寺，见鸟雀在佛像头上拉屎，就对住持说鸟雀没有佛性，对佛大不敬，住持说鸟雀有佛性，它们选择在佛头上拉屎，是因为佛性慈善，容忍众生，对外物从不计较，鸟雀也明白这点。
